International Scientific Seminar “Modern Elite Sport: Challenges and Future Opportunities”
On February 25, 2026, the scientific seminar entitled “Modern Elite Sport: Challenges and Future Opportunities” was held at the Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism. The event was attended by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor W.N.Platonov, as well as more than 270 teachers, coaches, and specialists from Kazakhstan, Central Asian countries, and Russia.
The seminar marked the beginning of a series of monthly sessions scheduled from February to May. The main objective of the project is to strengthen scientific and practical cooperation and to improve the system for training elite athletes.
Twenty-two lecturers from the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports actively participated in the project. Representatives of the Institute also took part in an international training seminar on the VAR system in football and a training seminar on rhythmic gymnastics held in February 2026. Last year, 75 lecturers enhanced their professional qualifications through seminars organized by international federations and scientific-educational centers.
